Abstract
Although dating apps are regarded as a paradise for singles, there are still a large number of users who are not singles, and the use of dating apps by non-singles is generally considered to lead to infidelity. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the relationship between dating apps use and intention to commit infidelity. Drawing on the choice overload theoretical frameworks, this study was conducted to explore the cognitive processes linking people's perceptions of their mobile dating app experience and their intention to commit infidelity.

The results indicate that participants’ perceived quantity of alternatives on a dating app was positively associated with participants’ choice overload, and also positively associated with their perceived quality of alternatives. Besides, participants’ partner regret had a significant relationship with commitment and infidelity intention. In addition , gender has a moderating effect on the model architecture of this study.
