企業存在的目的是追求利潤最大化，而存貨管理的目的是實現利潤最大化的手段之一。在研究個案中，A公司僅依賴經驗法則管理存貨品項(SKU)需求波動，與單準則(存貨價值)ABC分類法，來制定與執行存貨政策(ex MTO & MTS)、存貨管理和倉儲管理。另外，為了降低預測不準確所導致的銷售損失，而將大量MTS的存貨品項預設了安全存貨量，導致花費大量時間於每日盤點作業、甚至會造成倉儲庫位不足、存貨額過高、呆滯品提撥額過高。
本研究將應用現有管理分類法(ABC-經驗法則)與ABC-XYZ整合分類法，模擬四種存貨分類法模型，最後使用四個關鍵績效指標來比較存貨管理結果，找出最佳的存貨分類法模型，並依據存貨品項需求特性和存貨價值，提出對應的存貨管理方法，為決策者準備存貨管理政策與策略的參考依據。
研究成果顯示在存貨管理方面上，依據存貨品項需求特性和存貨價值為基礎的ABC-XYZ整合分類法，能協助A公司決策者制定存貨管理政策，關注重點存貨品項，並在不影響客戶滿意度的銷售額，最終達到降低存貨金額、減少呆滯品提撥額、以及降低全年週期盤點次數(節省時間與人力)。

The purpose of enterprise existence is to pursue profit maximization, and the purpose of inventory management is one of the means to realize profit maximization. In this research, A company relies on the rule of thumb to manage demand fluctuations of SKU to develop inventory policies (ex MTS and MTO), and ABC classification (stock value) to do warehouses and inventory management. In additions, in order to reduce the possible loss of sales caused by inaccurate forecast, a large number of SKUs(Stock Keeping Units ) are set as MTS (Made to Stock) which are needed to build up safe stocks, leading more time consuming on daily cycle count activities, even resulted in insufficient storage space, excessive inventory, and excessive amount of Slob provision. This research uses the current inventory management techniques (ABC & the rule of thumb), and ABC-XYZ analysis, simulating four inventory classification models. Finally compare the results of inventory management which are assessed by 4 KPIs to find out the best model which can be used to develop the strategies of inventory management, stock policy for decision makers’ references. Research results show that for inventory management the technique of ABC-XYZ analysis is proven that can help decision makers to develop stocking policy, putting more focus onto key SKUs and its inventory, which without impacts to customer satisfaction eventually lead to reduce inventory values, the amount of Slob provision, the number of annual cycle count (for saving time and manpower).
