在職場上，「會議」是組織聚集了不同的成員，一起商討並解決組織所面臨的各種議題，故是組織中常見且重要的活動。對高階經理人而言，其日常參與的經理人會議常佔了其工作的絕大多數時間；再加上經理人會議也是聚集了許多高薪資員工的高成本活動，這應是值得進行研究的管理實務主題，但學術界對此一主題的現有研究卻是付之闕如。
本研究採用個案研究法，針對一位高階經理人的日常會議進行研究，並以檔案法、觀察法及訪談法進行相關資料的收集。本研究發現在該高階主管滿載的會議行程中，內部會議的平均時數遠大於外部會議的平均時數；而內部會議中，又以上級會議居多，其次分別為單位內部對下會議、單位內部上級與同級會議、跨部門平行會議。
本研究也另外發現了在正式會議前之會前會的重要性，由於在會前會的預先資訊收集及討論，方能讓之後的正式會議順利運行。
最後，本研究建議公司的高階主管平日就應準備並更新數據，以便縮短會前會的時間。而後續的研究者亦可以親身參與會議的方式，現場觀察並評估會議的有效性及時間的合理性。

In any workplace, "meeting" plays a vital role. For every organization, meeting is an important event to organize their members to discuss and solve various issues. The upper-level managers will take most of their office hour on participating in managers’ meetings on every working day. Managers' meeting is also a high-cost event for organization, since the participants are all high-paid employees. Therefore, meeting should be a worthy topic for researcher. But in fact research on meeting is rare.
This study used case study to study an upper-level manager’s daily meetings and used archives, observation, and interview to collect relevant data. The results found that the average hours of internal meeting are much more than external meeting. Among internal meetings, top-level meetings are the most, followed by internal subordinate meetings, internal unit-superior-level meetings, and cross-function meetings.
This study also found the importance of pre-meeting which conducted before official meetings. In pre-meeting, data will be presented and discussed in advance, making official meetings can be run smoothly.
Finally, this study suggests that managers could update and prepare commonly used data on weekdays, in order to reduce their time on pre-meetings. For researchers, he/she could try to attend meetings personally in order to conduct detailed observations and evaluate the effectiveness of meeting and the reasonableness of using time.
