ChatGPT是一款由美國人工智慧實驗室OpenAI開發的AI聊天機器人程式,運用自然語言生成和理解技術來處理多種複雜任務,例如,故事創作、程式碼撰寫、郵件回覆和文章翻譯等。其高度真實的對話回應能力和出色的重點擷取能力迅速引發全球關注。ChatGPT的出現為社會帶來了新的挑戰與機遇。隨著AI日益融入工作和生活,學習如何有效利用AI工具並探索其潛在可能性變得越來越重要。

本研究採取質性研究方法,以八位ChatGPT使用者的實際使用經驗為基礎,探討他們從認識這項創新到學習使用它的一連串過程。首先,透過調查問卷了解當前大多數的ChatGPT使用者,是如何知曉與運用這項創新工具。接著,以目的性抽樣的方式,挑選出八名具代表性的受訪者進行半結構式實體訪談。最後,根據兩個階段所收集的資料,整理出一套更貼近ChatGPT使用者的創新採用決策過程。同時,探討基於不同動機使用ChatGPT的人們在學習創新時的策略差異。

研究發現,ChatGPT使用者的採用決策過程可以被分為知曉(Knowledge)、探索(Explore)與決策(Decision)三個階段,每個階段都有其存在的意涵與代表發生的事件。ChatGPT使用者們依據初始的使用動機被分為「目標導向」和「好奇導向」兩種類型。雖然這兩種類型都能夠利用上述三階段說明其採用ChatGPT的歷程,但在探索階段,他們各自學習和了解創新的方式仍有明顯差異。目標導向型的創新採用學習歷程會以「線性發展」模式進行,好奇導向型的創新採用學習歷程則以「螺旋式發展」模式進行。
Abstract
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is an AI chatbot that leverages natural language generation and understanding to perform tasks such as story creation, code writing, email replying, and article translation. Its realistic responses and excellent key-point extraction have quickly gained global attention. The advent of ChatGPT brings new challenges and opportunities, making it increasingly important to learn how to effectively use AI tools and explore their potential.

This study uses a qualitative research method to examine the usage experiences of eight ChatGPT users, exploring their journey from initial awareness to learning to use the innovation. First, a survey was conducted to understand how most users become aware of and use ChatGPT. Then, purposive sampling selected eight representative respondents for semi-structured interviews. Based on the data from these two stages, a closer-to-reality innovation adoption decision process for ChatGPT users was developed. The study also explored strategic differences in learning innovation among users with different motivations.

Findings indicate that ChatGPT users' adoption decision processes can be divided into three stages: Knowledge, Explore, and Decision. Users are categorized into "Goal-oriented" and "Curiosity-oriented" types based on initial motivations. Both types follow the three stages, but their exploration strategies differ significantly. Goal-oriented users exhibit a "linear development" model, while Curiosity-oriented users follow a "spiral development" model.
