台灣過去幾十年來的快速經濟成長，不僅讓各式垃圾及廢棄物的大幅增加，各地方政府要處理如此龐大的垃圾量，也成為人力及財政上的沉重負擔。為了能夠讓民間協助垃圾與一般廢棄物，因此各級政府運用委外處理的規範，陸續將垃圾及廢棄物委由民間業者代為處理，不僅可以節省成本，也可以大幅提升清運之效率，而垃圾及廢棄物清理委外的商機，同時也帶給相關民間業者發展空間。
而本研究的主要研究目的，主要是要台灣廢棄物及垃圾處理業者產業概況，然後再針對廢棄物處理的個案業者以個案研究的方式，利用五力、SWOT以及競爭策略等策略分析，探討台灣廢棄物處理業者優劣勢以及其競爭策略。
根據分析結果，從競爭策略來看，在個案業者透過成本領導策略，利用自動化智能設備降低人力、運輸及燃料成本以提升價格競爭力；同時，藉由自動化清潔消毒設備及專用付費垃圾袋實施差異化策略，創造業務區隔；並採取專注化策略，集中資源於具備優勢的高雄地區，深化在地發展。

Taiwan's rapid economic growth over the past few decades has not only led to a significant increase in various types of garbage and waste, but also placed a heavy burden on local governments in terms of manpower and finances to handle such large volumes of waste. To enable private sector assistance in managing garbage and general waste, governments at all levels have utilized outsourcing regulations, successively entrusting private operators to handle garbage and waste. This approach not only saves costs but also greatly improves the efficiency of collection and transportation. The business opportunities arising from outsourcing garbage and waste clearance industry have also provided development space for relevant private operators.
The main research objective of this study is to analyze the industry overview of waste and garbage treatment operators in Taiwan. Subsequently, a case study approach will be adopted, focusing on a specific waste clearance industry. Strategic analyses, including Porter's Five Forces, SWOT, and competitive strategies, will be employed to explore the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of Taiwan's waste clearance industry, as well as their competitive strategies.
According to the analysis results, from the perspective of competitive strategies, the case study operator employs a cost leadership strategy by utilizing automated intelligent equipment to reduce labor, transportation, and fuel costs, thereby enhancing price competitiveness. Simultaneously, a differentiation strategy is implemented through various automated intelligent cleaning and disinfection equipment, along with the issuance of exclusive paid garbage bags, to create business differentiation from other competitors. Furthermore, a focus strategy is adopted by concentrating resources in the Kaohsiung area, which possesses customer and scale advantages, to continuously strengthen the advantages of in-depth local development.
