Abstract |
In recent years, research on long working hours has increased, with a focus primarily on its effects on mental and physical health. A comprehensive understanding of the specific ways in which long working hours influence employees’workplace behaviors is still lacking, particularly concerning cyberloafing. Therefore, this study establishes a research model with " Ego depletion" as the core concept, aiming to explore two main research objectives: the mediating role of ego depletion between long working hours and cyberloafing, and analyzing whether job autonomy moderates the relationship between long working hours and ego depletion. This study conducted a survey of financial industry employees, collecting a total of 270 valid samples. The results indicate that ego depletion plays a mediating role between long working hours and internet browsing behavior. As employees' working hours increase, they are more likely to experience ego depletion, which in turn triggers cyberloafing. |
