Abstract
With the continuous advancement of technology and the widespread use of smartphones, fitness applications (Fitness APPs) have become important tools for people to engage in fitness activities. These apps not only help users monitor exercise data in real-time but also provide personalized workout plans based on individual physical conditions and enhance user interaction through social features. However, long-term use of these apps may lead to self-depletion, affecting their willingness to interact with the fitness apps.
In this study, we delve into the impact of ego depletion on users' interactive engagement with fitness apps, explaining this phenomenon through self-construal and self-regulation, while also examining the influence of public recognition. This research aims to understand whether users experience different levels of ego depletion when using fitness apps with different self-construal, depending on their level of self-regulation, and whether this feeling affects their behavioral intentions. Additionally, we investigate how users' attitudes toward public recognition play a role in this process to explain their behavioral and emotional responses.
Through a combination of experimental and survey methods, we aim to provide new insights into the impact of ego depletion on fitness app users and reveal the role of public recognition in this process. This will help app developers better meet user needs by providing more attractive features, thereby encouraging users to participate more actively in fitness activities. At the same time, this study provides valuable information for the research field of fitness apps, contributing to a deeper understanding of user interaction behavior and psychological responses.
