Abstract |
In recent years, like the trend of anti-institutional reforms around the world, Taiwan’s politics has also undergone dramatic changes. It was Ko Wen-Je, who was running for the mayor of Taipei in 2014, and Daniel Han, who was the mayor of Kaohsiung in 2018. In the process of the elections, they achieved incredible success with strong charm and political enthusiasm of the masses. Josse's reference to Charisma of Weber’s social dynamic system and Trump's verbal description found that contemporary politics is like a dramatic effect. There are three Counter-Roles, namely devoted followers, unworthy challenger and colossal players. The protagonist shows the stage of the Charisma. This article is divided into two phases. First, it is aimed at the discourse analysis of Ko Wen-Je and Daniel Han during the campaign, confirming how they use these Counter-Roles to promote their charisma. The second is to go back to the historical context and analyze how people enter the Counter-Role under the influence of the political structure. Structure and initiative are used to explain the behavior of atypical politicians. The study found that the followers between Ke and Han are following the changes in social structure. The attractive facilitators interpret their behaviors from a personal point of view, not the public. Their unworthy challengers gain prestige as challengers but return to the political structure. Both Ke Han and Han have successfully interacted with the colossal players and gained political legitimacy. |
