Abstract
This study explores the development of exporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) facing environmental sustainability challenges. The research investigates the impact of sustainability strategy orientation on sustainable development practices, supply chain management capabilities, and international market performance. Additionally, top executives' sustainable leadership, green innovation, and social network embeddedness in the supply chain serve as intervening variables. The study employs a questionnaire survey to target business owners, top executives, and managers of exporting enterprises. The questionnaire method is adopted. Findings revealed positive correlations between sustainable strategy, sustainable practices, supply chain management capabilities, and international market performance; Executives' sustainable leadership and green innovation have an enhanced interference effect, respectively. Notably, the social network embeddedness in the supply chain reduces interference. This research deepens understanding of top executives' role in sustainable development, addresses gaps in supply chain management capabilities for intricate supply chains of exporting enterprises, and examines social network embeddedness, contributing to valuable research in this field.
