Abstract |
In teams or organizations, both cooperation and competition exist. Stereotypically, most people believe that having a cooperative condition within the team could steer an incredible team performance. On the contrary, the existence of competitive condition would not only recognize winners, but also those who delivered the worst performance. Therefore, in the process of cooperation and competition goals, there is positive performance to cooperative structure, and a negative performance would happen in competitive structure. This study uses qualitative design through interview method to collect the data. This study develops a quadrant chart based on cooperation competition and high low performance. The four types of staff include Independent person, Teamwork person, Elimination person, and Objective person. To require the different perspectives from different companies in the financial industry, this study uses interview method to understand their circumstance when they encounter the problem. After interviewing, every participant was classified into one of four types by analyzing their responses. In the analysis, there are three major topics, one is cooperation, another is competition, and the other is the commonality of both goals. The feedback from interviewees is crucial on this research and contributes in realizing whether cooperation goal also brings negative influence and if competition will cause positive inspiration. |
