Abstract |
In this study, the socioeconomic attainment of Hong Kong investment immigrants, who have come to Kaohsiung in the past five years will be the focus. First, some crucial background history and basic concepts of Hong Kong immigration will be first elaborated in the literature review as a preface. Then, the dissimilarities between Hong Kong and Taiwan’s business practices and environment will be discussed. In addition, the underlying reasons of the above findings will be examined. What is more, some success of Hong Kong investment immigrants doing business in Kaohsiung will be analyzed from the perspective of similarities and differences of two regions, shared traits of Hongkongers and business field. To conclude, combined the respondents’ experience in living and running a business in foreign land, integrate the analysis into interviewee’s future business path, beneficial suggestions for either Hong Kong immigrants or Taiwanese doing business in Kaohsiung will be proposed. It is expected that both Taiwanese and newcomers from Hong Kong can take it as a guidebook, utilize the features of Kaohsiung and the ethnic characteristic of Hongkongers, boosting the reputation and socio-economic environment of Taiwan together. |
