Abstract |
This study examines the actions and policies of multinational semiconductor companies TSMC and ASML to assess their alignment with the 2030 reduction target set by the government. The study focuses on examining the role of the Triple Bottom Line framework, which includes the dimensions people, profit and planet. By examining how TSMC and ASML integrate sustainability practices into their operations, this study aims to provide insight into their efforts to address environmental issues and contribute to a more sustainable future. The study uses a mixed-methods approach, with both primary and secondary research methods. Primary data is collected through interviews with TSMC and ASML employees, providing a better understanding of their sustainability initiatives and strategies. Secondary data is obtained through analysis of official reports and publications from companies and government agencies. The findings reveal that there is a connection between global semiconductor companies and the Taiwanese and Dutch Governments in certain sectors, but there is a lack of alignment in specific measures to reduce emissions and help the governments achieve their targets by 2030. The findings highlight the importance of integrating the TBL framework into corporate strategies to drive positive social, environmental, and economic outcomes. |
