Abstract |
In the era of big data, decision makers are confronted with the challenges of multiple objectives and numerous alternatives, leading to complexity in determining the optimal course of action. This study introduces a system designed to address and improve upon this issue, using restaurant selection as an example. The system empowers decision makers to influence the generation of the consequence table through an iterative visual exploration of the data, ensuring the creation of a tailored consequence table that aligns with their decision making objectives. Leveraging advanced visualization techniques, the system enables decision makers to gain deeper insights into the data and select the best solution from a diverse set of alternatives. In a user study, we found that the system was able to help decision makers generate a consequence table that reflects their subjective consciousness and facilitates the identification of the optimal solution. This study hopes to leverage the inherent strengths of data visualization to enhance the decision making process and empower decision makers to make well-informed choices that align with specific criteria. |
