Abstract |
While the issue of generalist versus specialist and promotion have been discussed separately in past research. But few studies have focused on generalist and specialist : who will get more career promotion ? According to the regulatory focus theory, this paper tries to study the relationship among generalist and specialist, promotion and prevention focus and career promotion. The current study conducted two-parted questionnaire survey to collect 127 effective responses. Through the analysis of the survey was conducted through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, factor analysis, and a multiple linear regression in order to indicate the direction and relationship among variables. To conclude, the results of the analysis are as follows: Generalists get more career promotion than Specialist. Promotion-focused people are more likely to get promoted. The study found prevention-focused people do not have a significant with promotion. And the results cannot indicated that generalist with promotion or prevention focus have relationship to their promotion. |
